Tonight the Barrie Colts are in London to face the London Knights. (1-3-0-0)
The Knights are not off to a great start this season having lost 3 of their first 4 games of the season. Goal scoring has no doubt been their biggest issue so far this year, having only scored 6 goals (Compared to the Colts 23 goals scored in 5 games played). If they want to have a chance against Barrie that will need to be fixed. Though, Barrie has scored a lot they have also let in a bunch of goals having allowed 18. A lot of that can be attributed to the amount of time the team has spent killing penalties.
The Colts are hoping to keep the momentum they had this past weekend having earned 5 of a possible 6 points. They also ended the weekend with a HUGE win on home ice when they defeated the Ottawa 67's 9-3.
Keys to success: Going into the game the Colts look like the stronger team. However, this is hockey and that means very little. Though the Colts have looked sharp early this season, they have lacked discipline and had moments of weakness in their own end. Mac Blackwood has been a huge part of the teams success. Though it might not be a bad idea to give him a rest at some point this weekend, it looks like the team is set to get as many games out of Blackwood as they can this season. Though the defenders have had moments of brilliance, they have also made Mac's job harder than it needs to be at times.
Discipline... I mean I can say this in all my previews but hopefully this will be the last time. The Colts played a more disciplined game against Ottawa and will need to continue that heading into London.
Blandisi, Mangiapane and Lemieux have been incredible. Soon, the 3rd and 4th lines will need to chip in because there is no guarantee that the top lines can continue the pace they are at.
The game is set for a 7:30 puck drop in London!
