Tonight the Barrie Colts head to Sarnia to take on the Sarnia Sting (0-1-1-0).
The Sting are not off to the season they hoped having lost their only 2 games of the season so far. In those games they have allowed 11 goals. They hope that they are able to get the win tonight before they head to Erie for tomorrows game against the undefeated Otters.
The Colts are coming off of a 4-3 overtime loss last night to the Windsor Spitfires and are looking to get back to having a winning record. The Colts were not terrible last night if you are able to forget the second period. If you only watch the second period, well the Colts were terrible last night..
Keys to success: DON'T TAKE STUPID PENALTIES! Is there an echo in here? Dumb penalties has hurt the Colts a lot this season. I love seeing the team playing with an edge, but they need to play smarter. That toes not mean high sticking opposing players behind your own net either. Also it is important that the blue line show up for the entire game. They were strong last night but just fell apart for the second period. They have shown that they are able to exist without Aaron Ekblad, they just need to prove that they can keep that level of play for an entire game. Oh, AND DON'T TAKE STUPID PENALTIES!
Players to watch: Blandisi. I still think I hear an echo, is that just me? Anyways. Watch Blandisi. He has been incredible. 7 points, 3 games... That kid looks great with the A on his chest, doesn't he? He is is showing a strong case why the team could consider promoting him to team captain. Lemieux also is a player to watch tonight. I don't think he had a strong showing last night and I am sure he knows that. There were times where he lacked effort and when he was put at the point, he was careless with the puck. I expect a high energy game from him tonight! Also, watch that Mangiapane kid. His energy and speed have been incredible this season and I expect that he will only get better with each game.
Puck drop is at 7:05 tonight in Sarnia.
